deticated to my dear friend....
EMPOWER YOURSELF
I have lots of great ideas but for some reason, I just cannot seem to be able to actualize them. I instead tend to blame the circumstance around each idea, and have excuses of why these ideas cannot succeed in my predicaments. However I have come to the realization that the one that is actually stopping me from success is me, not my circumstances. I find that I am not in complete control of my life, and this cause various levels of failure in my life, as I am easily discouraged, and take my focus away from what is really important. I see myself in the passenger?s seat of my life rather than the driver?s seat; I seem to prefer to sit on the side, while others take charge of my life. To take control of my life is much easier said than done, and if it actually were that easy then there would be a lot more successful people in the world today. Although the road ahead to gain back my life could be filled with complications and challenges, I will be eventually able to take control within my own capabilities. The power of having control of my life is there, but only if I am willing to take this control. Now if I was to look at myself as a different person, and was giving advice to this other person actually being me, I would give them the following ideas, and tips to encourage them and help them have ideas on how to take full control of their life.
In generally for any situation there are a many different key components for taking control, yet the majority often fails to consider them. One key requirement is being proactive, meaning that one should be accountable for everything they do. When one can ingrain a principle such as being proactive, they can then be apt to planning ahead in order to effectively handle challenges in their life, and have positive outcomes. Another component is to see the bright side of things, as life has its ups and downs, its ones job to have a positive perspective, especially when face to face with a challenge. Needless to say if one were to look at an issue from its negative side, one will never find a solution. In order to see the bright side of things, one can look at things as a bigger picture, everything has a solution, and it?s just the beholder?s job to think and act positively in order to discover the solution. However one thing that coincides with this is one usually gets easily frustrated when things do not turn out the way they intended. That?s when one must look at the even bigger picture, because such frustrations may cause lack of motivation. Although one may argue that when looking at the big picture an individual may become discouraged with the amount of work involved, with that said, one can look at each smaller task as the big picture, and then once the various tasks are completed there will be a sense of gratification of coming that much closer to the ultimate picture. Another thing to consider is one may constantly get overwhelmed, and once the individual is stressed they may find difficulty in concentrating or functioning properly. When one is stressed their emotional state or mentally of well-being are not usually at their optimum levels, this is what creates difficultly in being productive. One tip to overcome this is to go to a safe and calming places, breathe, distress, and forget about problems. Once rejuvenated one with feel refreshed and able to be productive once again. Lastly one thing that tends to drain ones energy is worrying the majority of people worry about things that they have no control over. The fact is there are certain things in our lives that we have no capacity to fix or change. That energy and time people tend to waste on worrying can be better utilized for controlling what you can in your own life, and that is beneficial to oneself.
When one loses control of their life that individual may resort to an eating disorder as a quick identity, as it makes them feel distinguished and makes them unique. Once the question of giving this disorder up arises one may feel fearful of losing a part of oneself. However once an individual is able to slowly develop a healthy route and stabilize it they will start to also develop a healthy identity, as one will be apt to living a healthier, meaningful, and fulfilling life. When an individual is coming to the realization of their disorder and are attempting to gain their life back they need to remember that the disorder is only a conglomeration of maladaptive coping skills. Overcoming this requires one not to relinquish a part of themselves, but to retain ones full identity and rather than forcing, and channeling all energy into the disorder, channel it toward adaptive coping skills. Many of times you will hear or see things that cause you to engage in eating-disordered behaviors. Now you may not be able to prevent all triggers, however one can choose how to respond. Recognizing your own triggers is the first step, second is to think of adaptive coping skills in order to deal with the triggers rather than engaging in unhealthy behaviors. Challenge these triggers and the thoughts behind them, explore these deeper feeling that coincide with these triggers, then at that point you may be able to prevent them.
Once you have regained control of your life, take your new independence and utilized it fully in order to take absolute control of your life in the most healthy, self-loving way. There are something?s to consider, one being be honest and don?t mislead. Take responsibility, each and every one of us makes mistakes, meaning if you result back to your unhealthy behaviors take responsibility for correcting it, have the courage to admit, and then learn from it. All in all be accountable for your own actions. Next being you must always remember you can be anything you choose. You can be your ultimate opponent or your greatest supporter, but only you can choose this. Acknowledge your choices and identify why you choose them, if you know exactly why then you are in complete control, however if you don?t know why, you are not in control. Once you have taking control, employ these skills; use them to help you achieve your hopes and dreams. Believe in yourself; believe in your own abilities. Each and every one of us have the desire to grow our personalities, and we wish to better ourselves, but in order to be happy, we must grow and expand our lives consistently. However remember our lives will never be sorted for happiness and fulfillment, this comes with a consistent improvement in the quality of life. Overall each and every day we are changing, as each existence on life is a constant growth experience. At the same the world around us changes at an even rapid pace, with new opportunities always right around the corner, it is up to the individual to recognize these opportunities, once recognized it requires openness and leaps of faith in order to adapt to these new experiences. Risks are hard, but change is beautiful. And this could be your new beginning for empowering yourself.
